Kitchen Appliance Cleaning Tips

Stove Repair

The kitchen is the heart of every home. That is why every appliance plays a major role in the lives of many. It helps food preservation and accomplishes day-to-day household functions in a timely and efficient manner.

Here at Last Minute Appliance Repair, we are always handling maintenance requests for household appliances, and that is why we provide here a list of handy cleaning tips that can help you avoid major issues with your valuable appliances:

Refrigerators

The refrigerator is one of the essential appliances in the kitchen, and when it stops working it should or needs maintenance, it can be inconvenient and frustrating.

Interior

  • Remove all the foods for a thorough cleaning.

  • Toss out expired foods.

  • Dry out wet spots before putting back the food

Exterior

  • Dust the refrigerator, also the back, to make sure it is free from dust or other debris.

  • Examine the doors and seals to ensure tightness and have a good seal.

Stoves or Ovens

Most ovens nowadays have self-cleaning cycles. But if yours have not, you can use a cleaner. Always be sure to follow proper procedures and wear gloves in using it.

Dishwashers

Good news!

You can find the best and natural dishwasher cleaners you need in your home (even in your pantry!) without the harsh chemicals or odors! You can use:

  • White vinegar – to clean the tub.

  • Rubbing alcohol – to clean the exterior of the dishwasher

  • Baking soda – sprinkle a baking soda on the bottom and run it in a hot washing cycle

Washers & Dryers

If you don’t give your washers and dryers the good cleaning care it needs, they won’t be around for too long to do the same for your clothes! To clean them, use the following:

Washers

  • Put baking soda into the washer

  • Run the washer in a hot cycle

  • Add vinegar into the barrel after the first baking soda load is done

  • Soak and clean the detergent dispensers with a solution of vinegar and water for hours to remove soap and detergent build-up.

  • Clean the outer washer with a brush or wipe with an all-purpose cleaner.

Dryers

  • Clean the lint trap by scrubbing it.

  • Remove the hose from the back of the dryer’s exhaust and get it clean thoroughly.

  • Vacuum the dryer’s port, connecting hose, and the outer vent.

  • Wipe down the sides, top, and back of the dryer with an all-purpose cleaner.

Once done cleaning your household appliances with the tips stated above, they will be working efficiently again and look brand new. However, you can’t avoid or prevent wear and tear, mostly if you use them daily, and eventually needs repair in the long run.
